Cymbopogon flexuosus, also called Cochin grass, East-Indian lemon grass or Malabar grass, is a perennial grass native to India, Sri Lanka, Burma, and Thailand. It is placed in the genus Cymbopogon (lemongrasses).
Its essential oil is produced by steam distillation of the freshly cut leaves. The oil is anti-infective, stimulates lymph circulation, anti-inflammatory, and insect repellent.
An ingredient hydrolyzed from elastin, the protein responsible for skin elasticity, and absorbed into the skin.
Menthol is an ingredient known for its cooling and soothing effects in skin care and pharmaceutical products.
As an AHA, it gently exfoliates the skin, breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells.
Strengthens barrier function and reduces transepidermal water loss.
