Phospholipid

INCI Name: Phospholipids

Phospholipid is a fat molecule that plays a key role in the structure and function of cell membranes. Phospholipids have special properties due to their double structure: one end of the molecule is soluble in water (hydrophilic), while the other end is soluble in fat (hydrophobic). Thanks to this, they are able to form a double layer, which forms the basis of cell membranes and separates the internal environment of the cell from the outside world.

The role of phospholipids in skin care:
Phospholipids are also valuable ingredients for skin care, as they:
• They have moisturizing properties: They help to preserve the moisture content of the skin, as they are a natural component of cell membranes and support the skin's ability to retain water.
• They strengthen the skin's protective layer: They protect the skin against external environmental influences, such as dirt and irritation.
• They have the role of transporting active ingredients: They help the delivery of various skin care active ingredients (e.g. vitamins, antioxidants) into deeper layers.
